The Barbie Fashion Model Collection stepped out onto the runway, so to speak, in the Year 2000. Designed by Robert Best and made from a material called Silkstone™, the Barbie Fashion Model Collection dolls, or Slkstones as they are since referred to by Barbie fans and collectors, have the feel without the fragility of porcelain. The face sculpt reflects that of the original Barbie face many of us recognize from our childhood, but with face paint that is delectably 21st Century. Barbie returned to her original fashion model roots with this elegant and sumptuous collection.

Simplistic, under-stated packaging showcases each doll, fashion, or gitset. The Barbie Fashion Model Collection's outstanding flare and style quickly won the hearts of many a collector. Returned to us, is our stunning and adored Barbie fashion model. With her exquisite fashions and accessories, both the collector and the child within can admire and play with Barbie once again.

The Barbie Fashion Model Collection currently includes two stunning African American Barbie dolls, two Ken dolls, and in 2004, the addition of an Asian face sculpt Barbie, Chinoiserie Red Moon Barbie, the 7th doll in the Lingerie Line. Also joining the Barbie Fashion Model Collection in 2004, will be the first furniture piece, a highly detailed Vanity.
